This page is a good source of information referring to many aspects of archery, and equipment.http://www.eastonarchery.com/frequently-asked-questions Kinetic Energy CalculatorKinetic energy is measured in foot pounds, and is the measurement of how much knock down power your set up carries. When you shoot your bow the energy created by your bow is transferred into your arrow and carried to the target. The more kinetic energy your setup transfers the more knock down power you will have. Below is a link to a simple kinetic energy calculator.www.eastonarchery.com/products/selection_kinetic Shaft SelectionWhen we set your bow up for you, we select an arrow that suits your bow. Usually to select the correct shaft we will use a chart, provided by one of many companies, to determine what spine arrow is correct for you. These charts usually take into consideration the relative speed of your bow, the type of cam system, poundage you are shooting, the length of the arrow you need, and point weight you would like to shoot. Below is a link to a couple of shaft selectors.www.eastonarchery.com/products/selection_hunting www.carbonexpressarrows.com/shaft-selector F.O.C.The balance of your arrow is equally as important. When you select an arrow and point weight combination, you want the balance point of your fully made up arrow to be more toward the front of your arrow. This will help your arrow to correct more quickly when you shoot. This balance point is called front of center, or FOC. Easton's frequently asked questions page (link above) has a formula to determine your FOC.Oregon Regulations
